Effective Influencing

You probably work with people who don't report to you, yet who affect your success in important ways. How do you influence them to cooperate with you? That, in a nutshell, is a classic influencing opportunity.

While techniques abound to manipulate others or get your own way, Compass International's Influencing Skills workshop focuses on collaborative strategies that enrich relationships in the long-term. We define influencing as the ability to motivate people to accomplish a common goal. We help participants become good influencers by focusing on core behaviors that translate across cultures and contexts.

What is the Influencing Skills Workshop?

The Influencing Skills program helps you and your team expand your circles of influence. Participants acquire a simple and pragmatic framework which they can apply to any influencing situation. We focus on behaviors and skill sets in these areas:

Building relationships
Getting others on board
Sharing information and assumptions
Bridging the culture gap

Who Needs Influencing Skills?

Executives or teams who need to influence people over whom they have no authority, yet are critical to their success - e.g. partners, customers, colleagues
Executives who work frequently with clients or colleagues from a different culture
Executives whose work involves a high level of persuasion: sales and marketing, team leadership, change management, customer relations
Teams who serve a support function (e.g. Human Resources, Customer Support, Finance and Accounting, etc) where good collaboration with other teams is important
